Section 37.82 - Agent and broker indebtedness(a) The Department will not act as a collection agency, but will take action at its discretion in regard to specific violations of the insurance laws or in regard to the indebtedness of an agent or broker if the cause of the indebtedness reflects on the trustworthiness of the agent or broker.(b) The Department will investigate and take appropriate action regarding premiums collected by the agent and not remitted to the entity, only after the entity has exhausted reasonable legal remedies to effect the collection of the unremitted premium.
