Section 555.32 - Administration of anesthesia(a) Anesthetics shall be administered by anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists and dentist anesthetists, or practitioners as defined in § 551.3 (relating to definitions).(b) If a nonphysician administers the anesthesia, the anesthetist shall be under the overall direction of an anesthesiologist or a physician or dentist who is present in the ASF.(c) The Director of Anesthesia Services shall be responsible for designating the physician or dentist who will be responsible for the overall direction of the anesthetist.The provisions of this § 555.32 amended October 22, 1999, effective 11/22/1999, 29 Pa.B. 5583.
