(a) A violation of this chapter by a prescriber shall be subject to sanctions under the prescriber's professional practice act and by the appropriate licensing board.(b) The Department will refer a complaint of a violation of this chapter, if known to the Department, to the appropriate licensing board for sanctions under subsection (a).
