Section 17.43 - Staff training requirements(a) Each staff member engaged in the institutional sanitation program shall receive training in areas which relate to the program. The training shall be received as soon as possible after the staff is hired and shall consist of at least the following material:(1) All aspects of food preparation.(2) Water supply and plumbing.(3) Waste disposal (liquid and solid).(7) Insect and rodent control.(8) Isolation procedures.(9) Sterilization principles.(b) It is recommended that each staff member satisfactorily complete a Basic Sanitarian's Training Course which would include the material set forth in subsection (a); the sanitarian should be knowledgeable in all of these areas to provide consultation to institutional personnel.
