Section 302.102 - Purpose(a) The purpose of this chapter is to protect the environment and the public's health and safety by ensuring that certified operators with the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities make appropriate process control decisions during the operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.(b) This chapter establishes the training, education, experience and examination standards necessary for operator certification.(c) This chapter also establishes the administrative processes and procedures the Board will follow to implement the Board's duties and responsibilities under the act.
