Section 277.235 - Standards for successful revegetation(a) The standard for successful revegetation shall be the percent groundcover of the vegetation which exists on the site. The Department will not approve less than a minimum of 70% groundcover of permanent plant species. No more than 1% of the total area may have less than 30% groundcover. No single or contiguous area exceeding 3,000 square feet may have less than 30% groundcover.(b) No trees, woody shrubs or deep rooted plants shall be planted or allowed to grow on the revegetated area, unless otherwise allowed by the Department in the permit based on a demonstration that roots will not penetrate the cap or drainage layer.
