Section 245.551 - General requirements for third-party inspections(a) Aboveground storage tank owners and operators shall have their aboveground storage tank systems inspected by a Department-certified aboveground storage tank inspector at frequencies in this subchapter. Inspections will check for compliance with State and Federal requirements and adherence to current codes of practice developed by Nationally recognized associations, tank manufacturer's instructions and design engineer's specifications.(b) Only Department-certified inspectors, certified for the applicable inspector certification category, shall be used to satisfy requirements for: (1) In-service inspections.(2) Out-of-service inspections.(3) Installation and modification inspections.The provisions of this § 245.551 amended December 21, 2018, effective 12/22/2018, 48 Pa.B. 7875.
