Section 89.163 - Performance standards(a) In situ processing shall be conducted in accordance with the performance standards and design criteria of this chapter.(b) In addition, in situ processing shall be conducted to prevent flow of the process recovery fluid: (1) Horizontally beyond the affected area identified in the permit.(2) Vertically into overlying or underlying acquifers.(c) The operator shall restore the quality of affected groundwater above and below the production zone, to the approximate premining levels or better, to ensure that the potential use is not diminished. The provisions of this §89.163 adopted February 17, 1984, 14 Pa.B. 524, effective 8/4/1984, 14 Pa.B. 2860.
