Section 78a.76 - Drilling within a gas storage reservoir area(a) An operator proposing to drill a well within a gas storage reservoir area or a reservoir protective area shall forward by certified mail a copy of the well location plat, the drilling, casing and cementing plan, and the anticipated date drilling will start to the gas storage reservoir operator and to the Department for approval by the Department and shall submit proof of notification to the gas storage reservoir operator to the Department with the well permit application.(b) The storage operator may file an objection with the Department to the drilling, casing and cementing plan or the proposed well location within 15 calendar days of receipt of the notification and request a conference in accordance with section 3251 of the act (relating to conferences).
