Section 9.155 - Land and water resource planning(a) In areas with limited water supply, the constraints of the water resource base are evident. Uncontrolled growth and development in these areas will only create unnecessary economic, social and environmental problems. In the past there has been little concern given to the interrelationship of land use planning and water resource planning and the impact of one on the other. An integrated approach to solving the environmental problems in areas with limited water supply is needed.(b) It shall be the environmental policy of the Commonwealth to protect and conserve ground and surface water resources and natural instream water uses through environmentally sensitive land and water planning which respects the natural hydrologic character of watersheds.
