Increasing State supplemental assistance payments to aged, blind and disabled persons.
Section 1. Increasing State supplemental assistance payments to eligible persons.(a) Pursuant to section 432(2.1) of the act of June 13, 1967 (P. L. 31, No. 21), known as the Public Welfare Code, and the act of April 7, 1955 (P. L. 23, No. 8), known as the Reorganization Act of 1955, beginning May 1, 1984, the amount of State supplemental assistance furnished to eligible persons shall be increased so as to be in the amount set forth in section 2.(b) The payments established under section 2 shall be in addition to payments made by the Federal Government under the Supplemental Security Income for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Program established by Title XVI of the Social Security Act and shall not be reduced as a result of increased levels of payment established by the Federal Government effected after April 30, 1984.Section 2. Schedule of payments. The payments shall be determined in accordance with the following schedule:

Final action on this plan must occur within 30 calendar days following its date of transmittal to the General Assembly excluding days on which either House is not in session because of an adjournment of more than ten days to a day certain.
