Section 459-015-0000 - Purpose(1) The Legislative Assembly has established within the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) a program for early retirement by reason of disability. The disability retirement program is solely intended to provide benefits to those members who are unable to work because they are disabled and cannot perform any work for which they are qualified.(2) Disability retirement is an expedited retirement allowance resulting from a disability and is intended solely to provide benefits to PERS members who are unable to work because they are disabled. A disability retirement allowance is not in addition to a service retirement allowance.Or. Admin. Code § 459-015-0000
