Section 230-130-0400 - Muay Thai/ Kickboxing

(1) All unarmed combat sports events held in the State of Oregon must be conducted in accordance with ORS Chapter 463 and the applicable rules set forth in OAR Chapter 230.

(2) The provisions of this section do not apply to events held on land controlled by an Oregon Indian Tribe unless governed by an intergovernmental agreement between the Oregon State Athletic Commission and an Oregon Indian Tribe.

(3) All Muay Thai/ Kickboxing events must be held in a ring unless otherwise approved by the Administrator.

(4) Notwithstanding any contrary provision in these administrative rules, when bouts are contested under a kickboxing ruleset, the Oregon State Athletic Commission adopts and incorporates by reference the Association of Boxing Commissions Unified Rules of Kickboxing. This provision does not apply to bouts contested under a Muay Thai ruleset.
