Section 800:25-7-8 - Dates and areas, legal reptiles and bag limitThe dates and open areas, and the number and species of reptiles that can be taken are as follows:
(1)No closed season. All reptiles except those listed in (3) and (5) of this section shall have a year-round season.(2)Bag limit. The bag limit is 6 per day or in possession for each species allowed in section (1) of this section.(3)Legal reptiles. The following reptiles shall be legal to harvest during the dates of March 1-June 30:(A) Prairie Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis ).(B) Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox).(C) Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus).(D) Massasauga (Sistrurus catenatus ).(4)Bag limit. There is no bag limit for those species listed in (3) of this section.(5)Closed season. There will be a statewide closed season on the following reptiles: (A) Texas Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum).(B) Desert Side Blotched Lizard (Uta stansburiana).(C) Checkered Whiptail (Cnemidophorus tesselatus).(D) American Alligator (Alligator mississippiensis).(E) Western Chicken Turtle (Deirochelys reticularia).(F) Map Turtle (Graptemys geographica).(G) Wandering Garter Snake (Thamnophis elegans vagrans).(H) Gulf Grayfish Snake (Regina rigida sinicola).(I) Alligator Snapping Turtle (Macroclemys temminckii).(J) Earless lizard (Holbrockia maculata ).(K) Roundtail horned lizard (Phrynosoma modestum).(L) Western Mud Snake ( Farancia abacura).Okla.
