It was determined at the end of 2006 by the statewide Training Task Force that these objectives are best accomplished by a group of impartial training advisors not connected with any of the specific training providers in the state. Subsequently, the Council On Firefighter Training has continued with a detailed analysis of the roles and responsibilities for these Regional Training Advisors [RTAs], as well as means for cost-effective field operations. COFT has already worked with the leadership at the Capitol to secure funding to underwrite these positions along with administrative support for them.
