Section 165:26-3-20 - General release detection methods and devices(a) Owners and operators of new and existing aboveground storage tank systems must use a release detection method, or a combination of release detection methods, that is: (1) Capable of detecting a release of regulated substances from any portion of the aboveground storage tank system that routinely contains product.(2) Designed, installed, calibrated, operated, and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, including routine maintenance and service checks for operability or running conditions.(3) Capable of meeting the performance requirements of this Chapter, with any performance claims and their manner of determination described in writing by the equipment manufacturer or installer.(4) Sampled, tested, or checked for a release at least once every 30 days.(b) Owners and/or operators must keep all written manufacturer and installer performance specifications and the manner in which those specifications are determined.(c) All electronic and mechanical equipment used for release detection, monitoring or warning must be tested for proper operation and calibration annually or per the manufacturer's recommendation, whichever is more frequent.Okla.
