Section 4758-5-10 - Requirements for certification of Ohio prevention consultant (OCPC)To be certified as a prevention consultant, an individual shall:
(A) Submit a formal application, including:(1) Suitable documentation: (3) A personal attestation statement agreeing to practice by the code of ethical standards adopted by the board; and (4) A recommendation and suitable documentation as follows:(a) Provided directly from the applicant's supervisor.(b) Provided in a manner specified by the board. (B) Provide an official transcript from an accredited school or university that verifies a bachelors degree or higher degree.(C) Held for a minimum of two years an active OCPS certification while obtaining work experience hours in paragraph (D) of this rule.(D) Complete a minimum of four thousand hours of compensated work in a combination of paragraphs (D)(1) and (D)(2) of this rule: (1) Administering or managing prevention programs or services;(2) Supervising staff or volunteers delivering prevention programs or services.(E) Complete the hours of approved education in paragraph (F) of this rule, as follows: In addition to paragraph (D) of this rule, sixty hours of education:
(1) Must related to the work of paragraph (D)(1) or (D)(2) of this rule.(2) Fifty per cent of the total hours shall be completed within five years from the date of application.(3) Completion may be through: (a) Board approved continuing education units (CEU);(b) Courses completed from an accredited school or university; or(c) A combination of paragraphs (E)(1) and (E)(2) of this rule.(F) The education content and minimum hours as follows: (1) Personnel supervision and program management education (twenty hours).(2) Administrative and consultation education (twenty hours).(G) The board shall have sole discretion to determine if documentation submitted is suitable.Ohio Admin.
