Section 3701-84-20 - Patient selection criteria(A) An extra-renal, solid organ transplant service must use written patient selection criteria in determining a patient's suitability for placement on the waiting list or a patient's suitability for transplantation.(B) Patient selection criteria must comply with the organ procurement and transplantation network (OPTN) organ allocation priorities and be based on objective medical criteria.(C) Patient selection criteria must include a psychosocial evaluation.(D) Patient selection criteria must ensure a fair non-discriminatory distribution of organs and be in compliance with centers for medicare and medicaid services (CMS) and OPTN oversight.(E) Documentation of the patient selection criteria utilized must be included in the patient's medical record.
