Section 61-04-05.1-01 - Prescription transfer requirementsThe transfer of original prescription information for the purpose of refill dispensing is permissible between pharmacies subject to the following requirements:
1. The transfer is communicated directly between licensed pharmacists, licensed pharmacy interns, or registered pharmacy technicians and the transferring person records the information on the hard copy or the electronic record. 2. The transfer is limited to the number of refills authorized on the original prescription. 3. Both the original and transferred prescription are kept for five years from the date of last refill. 4. Pharmacies electronically accessing the same prescription record must satisfy all information requirements of a manual mode of prescription transferal. N.D. Admin Code 61-04-05.1-01
