Section 10C .0313 - AMERICAN SHAD AND HICKORY SHAD(a) The daily creel limit for American and Hickory Shad in aggregate is 10 fish, only one of which may be an American Shad, except for waters identified in Paragraphs (d) through (f) of this Rule.(b) There is no minimum size limit.(c) There is no closed season, except for waters identified in Paragraph (f) of this Rule.(d) In the inland waters of the Tar-Pamlico River, Pungo River, Pee Dee River, and their tributaries, the daily creel limit for American and Hickory Shad is 10 in aggregate.(e) In the inland waters of the Cape Fear River and its tributaries, the daily creel limit for American and Hickory Shad is 10 in aggregate, only five of which may be American Shad.(f) In public waters of the Roanoke River upstream of Roanoke Rapids Dam, including Roanoke Rapids Reservoir, Lake Gaston, John H. Kerr Reservoir, and their tributaries, and in public waters of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River upstream of Blewett Falls Dam, including Blewett Falls Reservoir, and its tributaries, no American Shad may be possessed.(g) American and Hickory Shad may be taken with dip nets and bow nets as allowed in Rule .0407 of this Subchapter from March 1 through April 30.15A N.C.
