Section 13B .4005 - MEDICAL RECORDS(a) The manager of outpatient services shall require that a record of outpatient care and services for each patient is maintained either in the ambulatory care services or medical records department.(b) The facility shall develop a system of identification and filing to prepare for safe storage and prompt retrieval of records upon subsequent inpatient or outpatient visits.(c) The facility shall establish medical records procedures which include provisions for maintaining the confidentiality of patient information and for the release of information to authorized individuals.10A N.C.
