Section 1642-7.4 - Fuel supplies

A physical inventory of fuel supplies shall be taken as of the last day of each quarter. On the basis of this inventory, a report will be forwarded to the accounting section which will show the amount of fuel on hand as of the first day of the quarter, the amount received during the quarter, the amount used during the quarter and the balance on hand as of the last day of the quarter. The accounting section, in determining the cost of fuel used during the quarter, shall use the first-in, first-out method in computing unit values. The journal voucher shall be prepared quarterly to record the cost of fuel consumed as follows:

Debit: Account 4340, Fuel.. $XXX................................................................................................

Credit: Account 1261, Fuel Inventory.. $XXX................................................................................................
