(a) The council shall focus on matters relating to community college faculty and make recommendations regarding academic concerns and issues, policies, and programs. Specifically, the council shall: (1) provide opportunity and structure for the faculty of community colleges to formulate positions on policy matters of common interest to the community colleges for transmittal to community college presidents, trustees and sponsors;(2) provide an opportunity for the faculty of the community colleges to act in an advisory, consultative and planning capacity to the chancellor of the university;(3) provide a forum for the consideration of matters of common interest to the faculty of the community colleges;(4) provide means for the interchange of ideas among the faculties of the community colleges and between the faculty and the administration of the university; and(5) provide an additional channel of communication between the university administration and local governing boards of the community colleges.(b) The council will work with the Faculty Senate of the State University of New York on matters of common concern in the conduct of university affairs.(c) The council will establish the necessary rules for its operations, consistent with this Part.N.Y.
