Except when issued in accordance with this Part, all firearms, rifles, shotguns, airguns and other weapons shall be stored unloaded in the appropriately locked arsenal within or under the control of the campus public safety department of each State-operated campus. Ammunition shall be stored in a separate area within said arsenal. Access to such firearms and ammunition shall be limited to the chief administrative officer or such designee as may be appointed in writing.
