Section 145-1.13 - Retroactive effective date

If the recipient of an academic performance award shall, during the academic year preceding the effective date of such award, have been enrolled as a full-time matriculated student in a program of study that can be approved for such award, then the effective date of the award shall be considered as the beginning date of such approved study, and all benefits and requirements applying to such award shall be considered applicable in the same manner as if the award had been made originally on such effective date. However, the following awards shall be excluded from the provisions of this section: Regents physician shortage scholarships, Regents scholarships for professional study of osteopathy and Empire State Challenger scholarships and fellowships for teachers.
