Section 87.5 - Small game
(a) The hunting of upland game birds and small game mammals, including foxes, opossums, red squirrels and woodchucks, shall be permitted from October 1 through the last day of February, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Environmental Conservation Law and regulations promulgated thereunder.
(b) The hunting of wild turkey in the area is permitted only during the spring New York State turkey hunting season. All turkey hunters must obtain a free turkey hunting permit from the refuge headquarters.
(c) No persons shall hunt upland game birds or small game mammals, including foxes, opossums, red squirrels and woodchucks, in areas posted by signs as closed to public hunting. The open area is delineated on maps available at the refuge headquarters.
(d) No person shall hunt raccoon or opossum at night in the area unless he possesses a seasonal permit, issued at the refuge headquarters.
