Section 1211.7 - Inspection of vehicle load
(a) The presence in a tunnel, upon the George Washington Bridge Lower Level or George Washington Bridge Expressway of a vehicle loaded with any dangerous article, or a tank vehicle which last contained a dangerous article, is likely to endanger persons or property and render the use of said facilities unsafe. Therefore, no such vehicle or tank vehicle shall be allowed in or upon said facilities unless it shall conform to the rules and regulations set forth in this Part in addition to all other rules and regulations established for the use of these facilities.
(b) Any vehicle whose load includes or is believed by a Port Authority police officer to include any dangerous article shall be subject to inspection prior to entering either a tunnel, the George Washington Bridge Lower Level or George Washington Bridge Expressway, in order to determine whether such entry would be in violation of the rules and regulations set forth in this Part.
(c) No vehicle loaded with a dangerous article shall enter said facilities unless the driver shall first, on demand made by a Port Authority police officer, exhibit a bill of lading or other shipping paper describing such article by the specific name by which it is known in the "List of Exposives and Other Dangerous Articles" contained in Part 172 of the D.O.T. regulations or as required by this Part.
