The Division of Taxation may publish newsletters and furnish the news media with press releases to make information concerning the Tax Law, related statutes and regulations adopted thereunder readily accessible to taxpayers, tax practitioners, personnel of the division and members of the general public. Press releases, in particular, provide a key means of alerting such persons to important tax matters. Newsletters and press releases are available on the department's website. Because the newsletters and press releases of the division are exclusively of an informational character, they have no legal force or effect, precedential value or binding nature.
