Section 460.1 - General
(a) Definition. Homemaker service is a specialized service which complements the casework service of the agency and which is provided on the recommendation and approval of appropriate social service staff to families and individuals in their own homes for the purpose of maintaining normal household operations during periods of stress or crisis, or for the purpose of teaching homemaking skills and management to a mother in order to strengthen family life.
(b) Scope. Homemaker service shall include, but not be limited to, helping with and/or teaching:
(1) household tasks, such as marketing, preparation and serving of meals, cleaning, light laundry, ironing and mending;
(2) personal services, such as assistance with bathing and other personal care of small children or elderly or disabled adults, payment of bills, errands, accompanying the elderly person to the clinic or the doctor;
(3) when serving as a substitute for the mother, supervision of children during the hours the responsible adult is absent from the home.
