Section 8160.1 - Use of Route 9 by Thruway vehicles

The provisions of section 385 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law relating to the maximum dimension and weight limitations of vehicles shall not be applicable to any vehicle or combination of vehicles proceeding to or from the New York State Thruway while being operated at the following locations; provided, however, that the maximum dimensions and weight limitations of such a vehicle or combination of vehicles are in compliance with those applicable to the New York State Thruway:

(a) A distance of 0.8 mile on US Route 9 in the Town of Schodack from a point in the vicinity of RM 1019 to a terminal at 1293 US Route 9 in the vicinity of RM 1028. Note - section 385(16)(o) of the Vehicle and Traffic Law permits vehicles or combinations of vehicles complying with the dimension and weight limitations available to the New York State Thruway to use an adjacent 0.8 mile section of US Route 9 which extends in a northerly direction from the point where US Route 9 intersects the southernmost access ramp leading to exit B-1 of the New York State Thruway to a point in the vicinity of RM 1019.
(b) Over a route extending south on Route 332 between New York State Thruway exit number 44 and its intersection with Gateway Drive and west on Gateway Drive to its intersection with Plastermill Road and east on Plastermill Road to its intersection with Loomis Road and east on Loomis Road between said intersection and No. 5923 Loomis Road, a distance of approximately 1.6 miles, and west on Loomis Road between 5923 Loomis Road and its intersection with Route 332 and north on Route 332 to New York State Thruway exit number 44, a distance of approximately 1.1 miles in the Town of Farmington, Ontario County.
(c) Over a route extending east and west from the exit 26 toll plaza of the New York State Thruway (I-90) to exit 1B of I-890, and west and east on Route 890, and east and west on Route 5, and north and south on 7th Street into the Scotia-Glenville Industrial Park, a distance of approximately 2.25 miles in the Towns of Rotterdam and Glenville, Schenectady County.
