Section 184.2 - Penalties(a) The violation of any provisions of sections 182.1 through 182.22 and 183.1 through 183.3 of this Subchapter shall constitute an offense punishable by a fine of not to exceed $100.(b) The violation of any provisions of sections 182.23 through 182.41 and 182.44 of this Subchapter shall constitute a traffic infraction punishable by such fines and penalties as provided in section 1800 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, and acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto.(c) For the purpose of conferring jurisdiction upon courts and judicial officers generally, violations of those rules and regulations of the department which are herein defined as offenses shall nevertheless be deemed misdemeanors for the sole purpose of making applicable all procedural provisions of law relating to misdemeanors, and courts of special sessions or city courts, as the case may be, shall in the first instance have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine charges of such offenses and no jury trial shall be allowed for such offenses.
