Section 81.11 - Duplicate proof of ownership

(a) Duplicate MV-907A (transfer copy). When an MV-907A (transfer copy) which is proof of ownership for a junk and salvage vehicle is lost or destroyed, the holder of the vehicle may issue another if he issued the lost one, or he may make a request for a duplicate MV-907A (transfer copy) to the party who issued the original MV-907A. Such party shall promptly issue a duplicate MV-907A to the holder. The term duplicate to replace certificate number________ shall be placed above the number appearing in the upper right-hand corner of the MV-907A forms. The DMV copy of the duplicate MV-907A shall be submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles. No fee shall be charged by any party issuing a duplicate MV-907A.

(b) Any false statement made in connection with an application for any duplicate proof of ownership shall constitute a violation of this Part.

(c) Failure of any person to cooperate with any other person in obtaining a duplicate as required by this section, shall constitute a violation of this Part.
