Section 25.1 - Introduction

To prevent or reduce the theft of motor vehicles prior to their titling, many motor vehicle manufacturers have been providing certificates of origin rather than statements of origin. The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators strongly supports this effort. The requirements for certificates of origin contained herein are consistent with the recommendations of that association.
