Section 589.3 - Applicability(a) This Part applies to any provider of services who operates or proposes to operate a crisis residence program for persons experiencing symptoms of mental illness. Such programs are a subclass of community residence, pursuant to section 1.03 of the Mental Hygiene Law.(b) This Part applies to the operation or proposed operation of a crisis residence program for persons experiencing symptoms of mental illness provided by a general hospital, as defined in article 28 of the Public Health Law.(c) This Part applies to the operation or proposed operation of a crisis residence program for persons experiencing symptoms of mental illness by a provider of services for persons experiencing symptoms of mental illness licensed pursuant to article 31 of the Mental Hygiene Law.(d) This Part applies to the operation or proposed operation of a crisis residence program for persons experiencing symptoms of mental illness provided by a state-operated psychiatric center.N.Y.
