A patient detained pursuant to an expired temporary order of observation, order of commitment or order of retention may be converted to civil status by the clinical director after consultation with the hospital forensic committee as required in section 540.9 of this Part and compliance with the notice requirements and procedures described in section 540.10 of this Part.
