Section 127.2 - Definitions
(a) Commissioner shall mean the Commissioner of Labor.
(b) Department shall mean the Department of Labor.
(c) Manufacturer shall mean any person who
(1) in fulfillment or anticipation of a wholesale purchase contract, contracts with a contractor to perform the cutting, sewing, finishing, assembling, pressing or otherwise producing any men's, women's, children's or infants' apparel, or a section or component of apparel, designed or intended to be worn by any individual which, pursuant to such contract, is to be sold or offered for sale to a retailer or other entity; or
(2) cuts, sews, finishes, assembles, presses or otherwise produces any men's, women's, children's or infants' apparel, or a section or component, designed or intended to be worn by any individual which is to be sold or offered for sale.
(d) Contractor shall mean any person who, in fulfillment of a contract with a manufacturer, performs the cutting, sewing, finishing, assembling, pressing or otherwise producing any men's, women's, children's or infants' apparel, or a section or component of apparel, designed or intended to be worn by any individual which is to be sold or offered for sale.
(e) Labor Law shall mean the Labor Law of New York State.
(f) Workers' Compensation Law shall mean the Workers' Compensation Law of New York State.
(g) Violation shall mean that a final agency determination has been made by the agency of jurisdiction.
(h) Registry shall mean the Special September Eleventh Bidders Registry of apparel manufacturers and contractors adversely impacted by the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States of America, established by Labor Law, section 349.
(i) State shall mean New York State.
