Section 7.7.2.20 - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER/ADMINISTRATORA. Appointment. The hospital shall be directed by a chief executive officer/administrator. The chief executive officer/administrator shall be appointed by the governing body, shall be responsible for the management of the hospital and shall provide liaison among the governing body, medical staff, nursing services and other services of the hospital.B. Qualification. The chief executive officer/administrator shall: (1) be a college or university graduate from an accredited college or university, with three years of experience in a health care facility; or(2) possess a college or university graduate degree in hospital, health care administration, or an advanced degree such as an MPH or an MBA with a health concentration; or(3) have been hired and be acting in the capacity of the facility's chief executive officer/administrator before the effective date of these requirements.C. Responsibilities. The chief executive officer/administrator shall:(1) keep the governing body fully informed about the quality of patient care, the management and financial status of the hospital, survey results and the adequacy of physical plant, equipment and personnel;(2) organize the day-to-day functions of the hospital;(3) establish formal means of staff evaluation and accountability on the part of subordinates to whom duties have been assigned;(4) provide for the maintenance of an accurate, current and complete personnel record for each hospital employee;(5) ensure that there is sufficient communication among the governing body, medical staff, nursing services and other services, hold interdepartmental and departmental meetings, where appropriate, attend or be represented at the meetings on a regular basis, and report to the governing body on the pertinent activities of the hospital;(6) provide the department with any information required to document compliance with the Public Health Act, Section 24-1-1 et seq., NMSA 1978, and provide reasonable means for examining records and gathering the information;(7) be responsible for the preparation of policies and procedures on the withholding of resuscitative services from patients.7.7.2.20 NMAC - Rp, 7.7.2.20 NMAC, 06-15-04
