Section 8:43B-4.3 - AFC caregiver training program

(a) An AFC sponsor agency shall ensure and document that each applicant for licensure as an AFC caregiver or substitute AFC caregiver successfully completes the training program and is competent to serve as a caregiver.

(b) The training program shall be developed by the AFC sponsor agency and shall be provided to AFC caregivers and prospective AFC caregivers under the direction of a registered professional nurse. The curriculum of the training course shall include, at a minimum, the subjects identified at N.J.A.C. 8:43B Appendix A, incorporated herein by reference.

(c) Any caregivers who administer medication to clients shall do so in accordance with N.J.A.C. 8:43B-8.1(b)3.
