Section 8:43A-28.3 - Structural organization

(a) The birth center shall be a formal member of a Maternal and Child Health Consortium and shall have been designated as a community perinatal center-birthing center by the Department, in accordance with N.J.A.C. 8:33C.

(b) The birth center shall demonstrate a formal agreement with an affiliated community perinatal center, as defined at 8:43A-1.3, located within 20 minutes transport time for medical care of a woman or an infant when complications arise during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum or newborn period.
