Section 8:34-6.2 - Renewal of license
(a) All licenses issued under this chapter shall expire on the date established by the Board and shall become invalid if not renewed.
(b) The Department shall issue a renewed license to a licensed administrator every three years upon the Board's review and determination that the applicant has submitted the following to the Board:
1. A completed license renewal application;
2. A criminal history record background check with fingerprints pursuant to 30:11-23 with the applicant bearing all costs of administering and processing the background check;
3. Payment of the required license renewal fee as determined by the Board in accordance with 8:34-9.1(a); and
4. Written documentation of the applicant's completion of 60 hours of continuing education approved by the Board in accordance with 8:34-7.2(a).
(c) At the discretion of the Board, the Department may renew a license up to 60 days after the date of its expiration upon the applicant's payment of a late fee, as set forth at 8:34-9.1(a)4, in addition to the renewal fee.
(d) An applicant for licensure renewal who has held a license issued by the Board for less than three years shall complete at least the prorated following number of continuing education hours:
1. Sixty hours, if licensed for 28 months or longer but fewer than three years;
2. Forty hours, if licensed for 18 months or longer but fewer than 28 months;
3. Twenty hours, if licensed for seven months or longer but fewer than 18 months; and
4. Zero hours, if licensed for fewer than seven months.
(e) Notwithstanding the requirement at (a) above, the Department is extending license expiration dates until September 30, 2020.
(f) Notwithstanding the requirements at (b) above, to be a timely submission, the submission of all renewal applications shall be postmarked no later than September 1, 2020.
