Section 8:41-11.5 - Medical command physician(a) The qualifications necessary to serve as the medical command physician of an air medical service shall be as follows:1. Physician status, or status as a permit holder as defined at 8:43G-16.2(f) (a person authorized by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners to engage in the practice of medicine in the second year of a graduate medical education program or beyond);2. Possession of CPR and ACLS certification and either PALS or APLS certifications; and3. Receipt of instruction in the proper utilization of the base station and the provision of medical command to ALS crewmembers, including viewing the Department's "Medical Command in New Jersey" videotape.(b) Physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine and/or trauma need not possess certification in ACLS, PALS or APLS.
