The Board or its duly authorized representative shall issue a certificate to each candidate who successfully passes the examination, pays the required certification fee, and otherwise meets the standards and qualifications set forth in the Act and this chapter. Each initial certificate issued pursuant to the Act and this chapter shall expire on January 31 of the second calendar year following issuance. A candidate who passes the exam shall complete the certification process and pay the required fees to obtain the certification no later than December 31st of that calendar year. Otherwise, the candidate shall reapply as a new candidate and retake and pass the examination before being eligible to obtain the certificate.
