Section 13:97-2.2 - Use of force(a) In any case that an investigator uses force while on-duty, the investigator shall only use that force that is objectively reasonable and necessary under the totality of the circumstances as known by the investigator at the time force is used.(b) An investigator may use the amount of force reasonably necessary to accomplish the law enforcement objective. If the individual resists, the investigator may increase the degree of force as necessary to accomplish the law enforcement objective but as soon as the individual submits, the investigator shall reduce the degree of force used.
