Section 11:20-24.2A - Triggering events that result in special enrollment periods(a) A special enrollment period begins on the date of the triggering event and continues for 60 days. With respect to a loss of coverage the special enrollment period also includes the 60 days prior to the loss of coverage. During this period, an eligible person may apply for coverage for himself or herself and his or her eligible dependents.(b) A loss of coverage resulting from nonpayment of premium, fraud, or misrepresentation of material fact shall not be a triggering event.
