Section Saf-C 5911.02 - EMT Provider Training

The EMT training process shall include all of the following:

(a) A training program which meets or exceeds the standards as defined in the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards, Emergency Medical Technician, 2009 edition as published by the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, available as noted in Appendix B, and which shall be valid for a period of 2 years from the program end date;
(b) Successful completion of the division developed EMT scope of practice program;
(c) A division approved EMT final practical examination which shall be valid for a period of one year from the date of successful completion; and
(d) The EMT cognitive examination approved by the National Registry.
