Section Saf-C 408.19 - Congregate Mooring Field Operators

(a) All congregate mooring fields shall have an operator. The operator shall provide the department with an emergency telephone number where a person who is responsible for the mooring field can be reached at all times.

(b) The operator shall:

(1) Be responsible for the overall maintenance of the mooring field to ensure that the moorings are kept in good condition;

(2) Assign moorings to members of the homogenous use group;

(3) Maintain records that:

a. Indicate the person to whom the mooring has been assigned;

b. Include a legible copy of the boat registration for each boat assigned to a in the field; and

c. Indicate fees charged for use of the mooring; and

(4) Have the records available for inspection by the director or his agents during weekday working hours.

(c) Operators of congregate mooring fields may include:

(1) Government entities;

(2) Corporations; or

(3) Other persons.

(d) Fees charged pursuant to (b)(3)c. above, shall not exceed the reasonable cost of installing the mooring and the required maintenance.
