Section Saf-C 3226.23 - Steering Lash or Free-Play(a) A vehicle shall be rejected if the steering wheel movement exceeds manufacturer's specification or is: (1) In excess of 1 3/4 inches, for a 15 inch steering wheel;(2) In excess of 2 inches, for a 16 inch steering wheel;(3) In excess of 2 1/4 inches, for an 18 inch steering wheel;(4) In excess of 2 1/2 inches, for a 20 inch steering wheel; and(5) In excess of 2 3/4 inches, for a 22 inch steering wheel.N.H.
