Section Saf-C 3202.18 - On-board diagnostic scan tool

"On-board diagnostic scan tool" means a device used to communicate with the on-board diagnostics system and that complies with the requirements of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Recommended Practice J1978, April of 2002 and J1979, May of 2007, as specified in Appendix B.
