Section Saf-C 1313.16 - Electronic Audio Devices and Audible Navigation Systems(a) Conventional radios, tape decks and CD players may be installed on a school bus with written permission from the school bus owner.(b) Each system shall be designed and installed in such a manner as to prevent injuries to the driver and any passenger in the event of a sudden stop.(c) Audible navigation systems may be provided on a school bus which shall: (1) Be attached to the windshield or dashboard in a manner that does not obstruct the driver's field of vision; and(2) Have a locking mechanism or equivalent that prevents the device from being programmed by the driver while the bus is in motion.
