Section Saf-C 1308.21 - Passenger Load and Gross Vehicle Weight(a) The total of the sum of the chassis weight, the body weight, the driver's weight and the total seated pupil weight shall not exceed the gross vehicle weight of a school bus. For the purposes of calculation, the driver's weight shall be 150 pounds and the pupil weight shall be 120 pounds per pupil.(b) The manufacturer's gross axle weight shall not be exceeded.(c) The actual gross vehicle weight shall not exceed the chassis manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating for the chassis and the school bus shall be properly registered for the manufacturer's gross vehicle weight.N.H.
